Frequently Asked Questions
To receive warranty service, you must visit a Tesla Service Center. For non-warranty repairs, you may use any service center. Tesla is not responsible for issues caused by third-party repairs.
Yes. Your New Vehicle Limited Warranty follows the vehicle and transfers automatically to the new owner when an ownership transfer is performed through Tesla.
Before your service appointment, Tesla will prepare an estimate in the Tesla app (Service > View estimate). Warranty-covered repairs appear as $0. Some repairs require in-person inspection before warranty coverage is confirmed. You will be notified of any cost changes before work begins.
  1. Open the Tesla app.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the home screen and select 'Specs & Warranty.'
  3. Tap the 'Warranty' tab to view coverage specific to your vehicle.
No. Damage caused by third-party bi-directional vehicle adaptors or chargers is not covered. Review the Exclusions and Limitations section of your warranty for the full list of what is not covered.
